Toppers Strategy for JEE Main 2022

“Life is too short to commit all the mistakes and learn from them”. Therefore smart people learn their lessons by observing and listening to other achievers and successful people which helps them to tackle certain problems in life.

Keeping this in mind, the JEE exam can be nerve-racking to most of the aspirants and every student will have his/her preparation strategies to clear the exam. Before you start preparing your study plan, we would like to introduce you to some of our achievers and their success stories on how they cleared one of the toughest entrance exams with flying colors.

Ishita Vyavahare (99.06 percentile, JEE Main)

BYJU’S student Ishita, a clear-thinking, confident student from Pune says that having an ability to think with an artistic mindset coupled with immense hard work helped her crack JEE with a whopping 99.06 percentile.

Here are some of the JEE exam preparation tips provided by Ishita:

  1. Don’t hype the exam. When you do that in your head, you tend to get nervous

  2. Keep giving mock tests. It’s better to straighten out your kinks in the mocks so that you don’t make any in the real exam.

  3. When you’re not able to study don’t be harsh on yourself. When you’re doing a great job don’t gloat. Try to be balanced in every situation.

  4. Prioritize quality over quantity when studying. Don’t trick yourself into thinking you have done a lot of work based on quantity alone.

Aniruddha (99.95 percentile, JEE Main, January 2020)

Aniruddha has some very interesting insights on preparing, attempting, and approaching the JEE exam. We are sure that they will help you with your test preparations as well.

  1. Three to four hours of focused studies in a day is much better than studying half-heartedly for 12 hours a day. Focused preparation prevents you from getting too exhausted before the crucial time of writing the exam.

  2. Getting enough practice is key for a good JEE performance. So, ensure you get enough practice beforehand. Only last-minute studies will not help you much while writing the paper.

  3. Keeping up with extracurricular activities, hobbies, and interests during the preparation period is very important. This will make sure you don’t burn out.

  4. Do not let the stress and fear of the exam scare you out of your wits. If you know that your preparation is good, you have nothing to worry about.

Prem Siddharth (97% and 95% in Chemistry and Physics, 12th board)

Kerala’s Prem Siddharth truly amazed us by his journey from scoring 50 percent in his Chemistry term paper to 97 percent in chemistry and 95 percent in physics 12th boards, topping his school in the subjects. He says that visualizing the things that he learned helped him a lot to understand the concepts better. Here are some of Prem’s study tips on how to prepare effectively for important exams.

  1. Identify your tough subjects and spend extra time studying the topics in those subjects. You can start by clubbing one tough subject with an easy one. This will help you relax and study.

  2. It is important to understand your topics instead of memorizing them. Once you understand the concepts right, you can answer any questions related to the topic easily.

  3. Mnemonic (to remember something by associating it with patterns, ideas, or letters)is a great way to remember the names of the topics, chemical formulas, or equations.

  4. A revision is a must for you to ace your exams. Revise your topics thoroughly. You can also chart out a weekly revision routine and allocate subjects according to your difficulty level.

Viswanath S Krishna ( 1200/1200 in 12th board, 529 in NEET, 2017)

BYJU’S student Viswanath from Kerala had a fixed goal of becoming a doctor to serve society for good and he did not delay his preparations for the exam. Vishwanath speaks about the things that he avoided the most to ace the exams.

  1. Mismanagement of time

  2. Not maintaining a proper timetable

  3. Lack of enthusiasm to study each day

  4. Procrastinating revision or study

He adds, “I refrained myself from committing these mistakes. Two months before my boards, I started revising the topics along with my regular studies. I had divided the number of days according to my subjects and started practicing mock papers and sample test papers. For subjects like maths, which requires a lot of practice, I kept an hour every day for it.” Post credit : Aakash Byju's [ Toppers Strategy for JEE Main 2022 - Success Stories And Preparation Tips (byjus.com) ]
